This monthly event, which our Ohio State community can attend in-person and online, features experts and individuals who have overcome many relatable adversities and will share their stories and practical resilience-building strategies to overcome obstacles while prioritizing wellness. Attendees will have the one-of-a-kind chance to be inspired, forge relationships with people with similar experiences, learn valuable coping skills to manage stress and anxiety and explore a holistic approach to improving overall well-being. CFAES Student Climate Town Halls

In the spring of 2022, CFAES launched a Student Climate Survey. The final report has been completed and we would like to share the results with the CFAES Community. We invite you to attend one of three Student Climate Survey Town Halls for an opportunity to engage. The town halls will take place via Zoom and registration is required. Please register for an option that works best for your schedule.

Transportation Options for CFAES Students, Faculty and Staff

Do you teach or attend a CFAES class and need transportation options? CABS On-Demand provides daytime transportation between areas west of Olentangy River, including Waterman Lab, Wetland Research Area, the 4-H Center and Controlled Environment Agriculture Research Complex to RPAC, Stillman Hall, Mid-Towers and Doan Hall. Overnight, the service provides transportation between campus buildings. 

Students, faculty and staff can download the “TripShot” for scheduling and real-time tracking.  Once on the app, go to “Trip Planner” and locate the building the name. Examples are listed below - the bold text is how the stops are listed in the app. 

• Waterman Lab - Waterman Agricultural and Natural Resources Laboratory 
• Wetland Research Area - Wilma H. Schiermeier Olentangy River Wetland Research Park
• 4-H Center - Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center
• Controlled Environment Facility - Controlled Environment Agriculture Research Complex (CEARC)

Coming Soon: Microsoft Teams Calling

Microsoft Teams Calling is the university solution to keep us connected regardless of where we work and will be replacing our Skype for Business phone system at The Ohio State University.  

The majority of CFAES is slated to begin moving to Teams Calling on November 8th and 15th, 2023 (county sites will be migrated separately).

Stay tuned for additional communications regarding the migration of your phone number from Skype for Business to Teams Calling. Please view a previously recorded live training, or visit the Administrative Resource Center (ARC) for training related resources (once there, scroll to the "Job Aids" section, then find the “Teams Calling” section).

Explore CFAES Open Houses hosted by academic units and help celebrate the achievements of CFAES alums at the CFAES Alumni Awards dinner.

Saturday, October 7
Join CFAES for our annual Homecoming Tailgate on the Plumb Hall lawn prior to the Maryland game, complete with a full buffet and entertainment for just $25. If you plan to enjoy your own tailgate traditions, join us for free to catch up with friends and grab a quick snack.

2023 Midwest Mechanical Weed Control Field Day

Ohio State University in partnership with the Land Connection will be hosting 2023 Midwest Mechanical Weed Control Field Day at the CFAE Wooster Campus. This one-day field day will feature some of the most advanced and precision mechanical weed control equipment in the industry (click the link above to see a description of all demos) as well as educational presentations and vendor displays. The target audience is grain and specialty crop farmers (conventional, non-gmo and organic), consultants, educators, and anyone interested from across the US and Canada. The field day rotates each year through Corn Belt states and will likely not be this close again for several years.

This is a pre-registration event (by Sept 24 at 11:59 pm) and costs $50; register here.
