September 12 - Applying Your Personality Type to Build Your Leadership Skills (MBTI) online
Moving from recognizing and understanding to appreciating and effectively using differences is a challenge because we all have a natural bias for our own way of seeing things and making decisions. It can be hard to recognize our own biases, especially when they are reinforced by the cultural attitudes within which we live and work. Taking the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) inventory will help you identify your unique gifts. Governance, lessons learned and forward thinking for future contaminant crises focus of upcoming breakfast program

The Environmental Professionals Network on September 19 kicks off the Environmental Law Conference with the Ohio Environmental Council hosting a breakfast program on the governance of emerging contaminants. Heather Raymond, MPA, water quality initiative director, College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences addresses lessons learned from the 10-year anniversary of the Toledo Water Crisis and Haley Shoemaker, MS, Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator, Columbiana and Mahoning Counties, Ohio State University Extension will provide expert dialogue on lessons learned and forward thinking for future contaminant crises.

Chuy's food truck will also be on campus. Hosted by The Ohio State University CFAES Department of Entomology, the United Titanium Bug Zoo & Entomology Graduate Student Association. In partnership with the Ohio State CFAES Graduate Student Advisory Council & the CFAES Wooster Campus Staff Council.

CFAES Alumni Awards

Join us for the CFAES Alumni Awards on Friday, October 25, 2024. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with the program starting at 6:00 p.m. The event is complimentary and open to all CFAES faculty, staff, and alumni.
The event will take place at the Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center (2201 Fred Taylor Drive, Columbus, OH 43210). Parking will be offered on-site and registered guests will receive a parking pass via email.

Seeking STEM internships, mentoring for West High School students

Would you like to mentor or provide internships to high school students interested in engineering, biomedical or STEM fields? Assistant Professor Sophia Jeong, College of Education and Human Ecology, is preparing a pilot group of students at West High School, Columbus City Schools, for this exciting opportunity. She and partners at the colleges of Engineering and Medicine seek additional Ohio State partners interested in offering such opportunities. The goal is to keep the high school students engaged in school and guide them onto a postsecondary STEM education pathway. If interested in exploring this opportunity, contact Jeong.

Gardening for Conservation Webinar Series

Wednesday, September 25th - Everyone Loves Free (plant) Food!
Composting is one of the best ways to address soil health, build organic matter, and keep valuable materials from the landscape. Come learn the basics of composting, how to get started and some other ways you can help the planet and help your plants at the same time. Our discussion will also include why leaving your leaves can help plants and wildlife in your home landscape. Speaker: Tim McDermott, OSU Assistant Professor and Extension Educator, and Danae Wolfe, TNC Digital Marketing Manager
