Ride Weekend is Over, but Fundraising Continues until October 31!

Thousands of riders and volunteers participated in Pelotonia, during ride weekend, to raise money for cancer research at Ohio State. We had a number of Buckeyes participate in the event, including President Kristina Johnson. Our own Associate Dean Gary Pierzynski donated many hours of training time to successfully complete his first 100 mile ride – will you help him reach his $3,000 fundraising goal? Donate today!

 

We also wanted to share a few statistics from ride weekend with you:

  • Over the last month Pelotonia has raised around $5 million
  • 5,925 Riders were on the roads on Saturday (August 7) and Sunday (August 8), including 1,769 First Year Riders and 490 Survivor Riders
  • More than 2,290 Volunteers showed up to hand out swag bags, administer first aid, sell merchandise and take care of our Riders
  • Nearly 350,000 miles were collectively ridden over the weekend
  • Almost 6,000 community members attended Opening Ceremony on Friday night at Lower.com Field: watch the opening ceremony
