Build a Better Summer Recipe

Join OSU Extension Educators to learn how you can build a “better” (healthier) recipe ahead of your summer gatherings and celebrations. You will learn about the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and how to make simple shifts to better meet the recommendations in your year-round cooking, eating, and celebrating. Recipes and tips will be shared for safely preparing healthy, easy, and tasty seasonal recipes. Register at go.osu.edu/may22.

Faculty and Staff Listening Survey

Ohio State launched a listening survey to collect feedback from campus faculty and staff about experience and engagement at Ohio State. Employees included in the survey received a unique email and link from Perceptyx on May 1. Please complete the survey by May 17. It should take about 5 minutes. More information is available on the HR website.

IT Updates

Save Your University Data in OneDrive
Storing your files in OneDrive offers several advantages over saving them locally on your computer. Using OneDrive ensures your files are securely backed up and protected from data loss due to hardware failure or theft.  While CrashPlan continues to be available from the university, it is considered a last resort for file restoration in the event of hardware failure. We do not recommend storing important files on your local hard drive. For more information and resources regarding OneDrive, please see the Administrative Resource Center overview and Job Aid for this service.

CFAES DEI Speaker Series - Cultivating Understanding: Engaging with Opposing Views in Agricultural Discussions

There used to be rules of engagement that were generally accepted in written communications as well as personal interactions. But reality has shifted and now, any of us can find ourselves in the center of controversy whether it’s from anonymous trolls online or in person with someone who takes issue with things central to our very being. In this interactive talk, Janice Person, an expert in agricultural communication, will share lessons learned when she worked at Monsanto on technologies such as genetically modified organisms that some people found controversial or confusing. Using agricultural communication as an example, Janice will outline ways to approach people who hold divergent views in ways that can make conversations less stressful and even productive.
