Become a Buckeye Wellness Innovator
Ohio State’s Buckeye Wellness Innovators program in the Office of the Chief Wellness Officer seeks faculty and staff for its June 2022 cohort. You will receive training, tips, YP4H points and opportunities to coordinate and attend special events. If you are interested in promoting health and wellness activities and initiatives in your workplace, plus networking with Buckeye Wellness Innovators from across the university, apply to the program and attend our free orientation at the Fawcett Center Alumni Lounge on June 9, 8:30 a.m.-noon. Read more.

Columbus Parking Upgrade/Downgrade Program Now Open

Faculty and staff may now apply for a parking permit upgrade or downgrade for the 2022-23 permit year. Faculty/A&P employees may request a downgrade to a B permit. Staff may request an upgrade to an A permit. Upgrades and downgrades will be awarded at random. The deadline is May 31.

The Ohio State University Free Compost Drop-Off Program

The Ohio State University and The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center received a Community Waste Reduction Grant from the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) to begin a compost drop-off program. The goal of the food waste drop-offs is to bridge the sustainability practices faculty, staff, and students learn on campus with their lives in the local community outside of Ohio State. The first 500 individuals who opt-in to the program will receive a welcome package containing a home compost collection bucket, compostable liners, and an informational welcome letter. This program is free for faculty and staff.  

Would you like to gain practical skills to lead others, build lasting relationships and demonstrate the value of your skills to employers?

The John Glenn College of Public Affairs’ Certificate in Public and Nonprofit Leadership is a 12-week professional development program designed for mid-career professionals working for public or nonprofit organizations. The program is instructor-led, and graduates will earn six hours of credit that can be applied to a graduate program at Ohio State or elsewhere. The program is open to anyone regardless of affiliation with Ohio State, but participants must have at least a bachelor's or equivalent degree.

Full-time staff and faculty can complete the certificate for free by utilizing the Ohio State Faculty and Staff Tuition Assistance Plan! Without assistance, the cost is $4,650.

The 2022 fall semester dates are August 26-November 18, 2022 (100% online). Apply by July 8. The 2023 summer semester courses are May 12-July 28 and will be online and in-person in Columbus. Apply by March 24, 2023. EPN Field Trip to Immerse Audiences in the Beauty, Importance of Native Prairie Ecosystems

Join the Environmental Professionals Network in collaboration with The Frank Museum of Art at Otterbein University for “If you listen carefully … It Sounds Like Love” on June 14. A celebration of beauty in the sounds of nine Ohio prairie seeds and discussion of the partnerships and strategies underway to restore native prairie and other habitats north central Ohio.

Celebrate Ohio State’s Commitment to Plant Health

From early classroom teaching to research discoveries and technological advances of today, the exhibition Protecting Plants, People and the World examines the connections between plant health, humans and the environment. Explore the exhibition through August 5, 2022 in the Thompson Library Gallery (1858 Neil Avenue, Columbus campus).
