Report = Support Mandatory Training 

As of April 12, the college is at 74.35%% overall completion for faculty, staff, and student employees. This year, merit-eligible employees who do not complete Report=Support! by April 29, 2022, will not be eligible for annual merit increases that take effect September 2022. Student employees, graduate associates and other employees who are not classified as merit-eligible may be subject to unit-specific consequences for non-completion. Bargaining unit employees should follow their applicable collective bargaining agreements. Don’t wait, log on and complete your training today!

To access the course: 

• Log in to the BuckeyeLearn system at buckeyelearn.osu.edu with your Ohio State credentials. 
• Then select the “My Transcript” button on the homepage and click the “Launch” button.

When you have completed a course, it will move to your completed transcript in BuckeyeLearn, which you can view by changing the “Active” button on the top of your transcript to “Completed.”

Did you know research has demonstrated that a lack of social connection may be a more significant risk factor for health than smoking, obesity or high blood pressure? To improve your social wellness, begin by reflecting on yourself and your social needs. Do you have more than one close friend or family member that you could call for “anything”? Take steps to ensure you have a variety of opportunities to establish quality, social relationships: 

1. Make an effort to keep in touch with supportive friends, family, and mentors you already know, to maintain those relationships.  
2. When you find yourself at any sort of gathering, participate in group discussions and be an active listener, reflecting on the speaker’s statements, when the opportunity arises.  
3. Join a club or organization that meets regularly, as this establishes a routine of social connection with others who share your interests or values.  
4. Take part in educational opportunities, such as religious study groups, library book clubs, or program series offered by a local museum or senior center.  
5. Volunteer. This provides the opportunity to give social support to others and to feel like a valuable part of your community. 

New Documentary Explores Water Access and Affordability in Ohio

A new documentary written and directed by Ramiro Berardo, associate professor in the School of Environment and Natural Resources is available to watch for free on YouTube. The documentary, And Water for All, debuted on World Water Day (March 22) at the Environmental Professionals Network breakfast program followed by a community screening at Studio 35 in Columbus, OH. “A Towering Task: The Story of the Peace Corps” Screening Facilitates Discussion on Global Citizenship

Alana DeJoseph, producer and director of the documentary film, “A Towering Task: The Story of the Peace Corps” visited Ohio State for a screening event and discussion centered around global citizenship on April 6. The screening and a Peace Corps 60th Anniversary commemorative event on April 7 serve as a reflection point to discuss the complex history of internationalization, civic engagement and global citizenship – and Ohio State’s path forward in these spaces. First Ohio 4-H SPARK EXPO to be held June 16-18

The 4-H Spark EXPO (Exploring Pathway Opportunities) is an exciting NEW opportunity for youth who have completed the eighth grade at the conclusion of the 2021-2022 school year. Three days of fun and learning with activities to explore a variety of career and educational opportunities in sessions created just for SPARK EXPO attendees at Ohio State’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. Attendees will also get the chance to develop valuable skills, make new friends, and fuel individual growth! They’ll get the first glimpse of the premiere college and career readiness program, Ohio 4-H Pathways to the Future.

Registration Open for signature Earth Day event on April 20

Ohio State’s 2022 Signature Earth Day event “Time to Act on Climate Change” highlights efforts underway to mitigate and adapt to climate change. Leaders from various sectors in Ohio will address the realities of the climate crisis and encourage the audience to leverage their individual innate strengths, interests, and relationships to solve our complex climate challenges. Co-hosted by the Environmental Professionals Network (EPN), the Sustainability Institute at Ohio State, and Ohio State University Extension, and co-sponsored by the Undergraduate Student Government Sustainability Committee. Registration is free for this public in-person event at the Ohio Union’s US Bank Conference Theater in Columbus or virtually through an EPN livestream production.
