CFAES Hoteling Spaces Update

Two conference rooms and three desks on the CFAES Wooster campus have been added to the hoteling spaces. There are also multiple spaces across the Columbus campus. These hoteling spaces can be reserved for a few hours or the entire day, and are done so on a first-come, first-serve basis. Within the spaces themselves, many are equipped with monitors and docking stations, and the layout varies from cubicle-style workstations to open tables and meeting rooms. If you do decide to reserve a space, please note that you will need to bring your own device to work from. 

Waterman Lab Kenny Road Entrance Closed, Use Lane Avenue

From February 4 to February 26, the Kenny Road entrance to Waterman will be closed. Motorists should use the Lane Avenue entrance during this time. The closure supports infrastructure enhancements to support ongoing construction at Waterman.

OTDI Experience Satisfaction Survey Coming Soon

STARS Leadership Development Program

The CFAES STARS Program (Strategic Alignment for Research Success) is an initiative to identify and develop the next generation of scholarship leaders among early and mid-career tenure track faculty within our college. The goal of the STARS Program is to propel you, our emerging scholarship leaders, to take your program to a higher and more collaborative level.

DEI Speaker Series | Neurodivergence in Entomology: A Panel Discussion | February 20th | 12–1:00 p.m.
Join a special panel discussion about the intersection of neurodivergence and entomology. Speakers will discuss their experiences living with a variety of neurodivergent conditions, and participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and contribute to the conversation. This program is intended for anyone interested in learning more about neurodivergence, regardless of their interest in entomology. Attendees are encouraged to read Why Neurodiversity and Entomology So Often Go Together, written by panelist Dr. Alice Laciny.

Applications are being accepted for the Outreach and Engagement Documenting Impact Grants. Grants support program evaluation and impact reports for community-engaged research or community-engaged projects, in collaboration with a community partner, that addresses a specific need or problem within the community. Applications are due Feb. 25.

30th Annual Denman Undergraduate Research Forum

Understanding and Addressing Burnout in Academia

The CFAES Faculty Mentoring Program and the OSU FREE Center are partnering with Dragonfly Mental Health to offer the webinar Understanding and Addressing Burnout in Academia. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to unpack the symptoms and causes of burnout and learn evidence-based strategies for prevention and recovery. This session will provide practical tools to help you recognize burnout, develop resilience, and create a healthier work-life balance.

Call for Proposals: Big Ten GIS Conference 2025

The Big Ten Academic Alliance Geospatial Information Network (BTAA-GIN) invites proposals for presentations, lightning talks, and map gallery submissions for the Big Ten GIS Conference 2025, a free virtual event on April 11, 2025. Open to students, educators, researchers, and professionals from all institutions.

Call for Applications open for the annual OSEP awards

In collaboration with Ohio State Energy Partners (OSEP), the Office of Academic Affairs has opened a call for grant proposals that align with the university's sustainability goals; align with advancing access, engagement and inclusive excellence goals; or promote research translation. Submissions are due March 17. Faculty, staff and students are eligible to apply. Awards range from $10,000 to $50,000
