Pardon our progress at Waterman

For those visiting Waterman please be mindful of the current construction and be aware of the posted signage for road restrictions and restricted areas. Over the next 18 months this will be an ever-changing construction site as crews work on the Multispecies Animal Learning Center, Dairy, and Carmack Road improvements. Due to the construction, coordinating laboratory visits and other activities at Waterman will be critical, and those planning to do so are asked to submit a Lab Activity, or Tour Request at least two weeks before your proposed event.

Backyard Poultry Online Certificate Course

As we are entering 2025, we are approaching not only chick season, but we are getting our first positive detections of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza. The Backyard Poultry Online Certificate Course assists new to seasoned poultry keepers navigate the process of keeping healthy flocks. This also satisfies multiple city and municipality requirements for keeping backyard poultry. The course is self-paced and only $25. This is applicable to 4-H clubs, livestock producers, agriculture clients, or anyone who is considering keeping a flock of backyard birds for eggs, meat, or show.

Moo-ving Methane: Converting Ohio’s dairy farm manure into an energy source.

The Environmental Professionals Network (EPN) kicks off their 2025 programming on Jan. 14 with “Moo-ving Methane: Converting Ohio’s dairy farm manure into an energy source.” Join the networking breakfast to learn about methane-capturing technologies implemented by IGS Energy on dairy farms and their contributions to energy supply diversification and climate change mitigation. At the event, you'll hear from a multi-sector team of agricultural engineers, energy providers, and representatives from Ohio's dairy industry who are working together to convert manure methane into bioenergy.

National Day of Racial Healing 2025

Join CFAES for an interactive 90-minute webinar that will change the way you think about racial healing and community building. In honor of the Kellogg Foundation's National Day of Racial Healing on January 21, renowned facilitator Susan M. Glisson will share an overview of The Welcome Table™, a community building process she uses for racial healing, reckoning, and repair. Her innovative approach utilizes storytelling and deep listening to foster authentic relationships that create a safe space for acknowledging and reconciling past race-related wounds and facilitate effective collective efforts that transform communities.

Owl Prowl

The Supervisor's Toolbox Certificate Program

The Supervisor's Toolbox Certificate Program gives supervisors the tools they need to be effective. Registration Deadline is February 5, 2025.
